Critical: Must have 21 consecutive months of temporary residency. Gaps or expired visas restart the clock.
Core Requirements
1. Valid Temporary Residency for 21+ Months
- • Must be continuous (no gaps)
- • Can be from any temporary visa type
- • Apply anytime after 21 months, before 24 months is ideal
2. Clean Criminal Record
- • NEW background check from home country (apostilled)
- • Ecuador police clearance certificate
- • Both must be less than 6 months old
3. Valid Passport & Cedula
- • Passport valid 6+ months
- • Current Ecuador cedula (national ID)
- • Copy of current temporary visa
